In-year territory changes

The plan changes every week. Now it keeps up.

Reps leave, new hires start, customers get acquired and new accounts show up overnight. BoogieBoard handles each change in minutes — live deals protected, Salesforce updated, every move on the record.

See the moments
When a rep leaves

Spread their book evenly — not onto one desk

Mark the departing rep's territory as empty in a balancing run and BoogieBoard moves every account out, spread across the remaining territories to your goals. The territory and its history are kept, ready for a backfill.
  • Locks keep open deals with the right people
  • Reassign open opportunities, then push owners to Salesforce
  • Every account move lands in the change log
When a new hire starts

Carve the territory today. Hand it over on day one.

Build a territory for someone who hasn't started yet, give its accounts temporary coverage so nothing goes dark, and set the start date. On that day ownership switches automatically and the temporary coverage cleans itself up.
  • Temporary coverage per role, without moving the permanent owner
  • Date-effective assignments switch ownership on schedule
  • Coverage can be pushed to Salesforce too
When a customer is acquired

One customer, one owner — even after an acquisition

Families come straight from Salesforce's parent hierarchy. When a new parent appears, assign the whole family to one owner, resolve conflicts in a single dialog, and keep the group together in every future rebalance.
When new accounts arrive

New accounts route themselves

Every level of your territory model has readable rules: region, size, industry, anything on the account. As the Salesforce sync brings in new or changed accounts, they're routed down the tree to the territory they belong in.
  • Rules with AND, OR and NOT logic, tested against live counts
  • Smart Assign places one-off lists without a full rebalance
When leadership wants a rebalance

Rebalance mid-year without breaking a single deal

Locking rules decide what can never move: accounts with open opportunities, strategic logos, long-standing relationships. Test a rule before you save it; click any lock to see why it's there.
  • Manual locks expire automatically, so exceptions don't pile up
  • Receive-only and release-only territories limit the ripple
When a rep asks why

“Why isn't this account mine?” — answered in seconds

Pick the account and the territory. Show Me Why walks the tree and shows exactly which rule, at which level, sent it somewhere else — so the answer goes back to the rep in a minute, not a week.
When a change was a mistake

Undo anything. Restore any date.

Every assignment change is recorded with who, what and when. Undo your own action from the activity panel, or restore any set of accounts — or the whole scenario — to how it looked at a point in time.
  • Balancer runs and map edits have their own undo
  • Recent Changes shows every account that moved, and who moved it
Salesforce stays in step

Changes reach the CRM on your terms

Preflight every push

See every account and field that will change before anything is written to Salesforce.

Push on a schedule

Send committed changes automatically, and pause the schedule whenever you need to.

Reconcile drift

When someone changes an owner straight in Salesforce, line the plan back up instead of letting it silently diverge.

FAQ

In-year change questions

How fast can we reassign a departing rep's accounts?

Usually in minutes. Mark their territory as empty in a balancing run and the accounts are spread across the team to your goals, with locks honored. Review the run, then push the new owners to Salesforce.

Will a mid-year rebalance move accounts with open deals?

Not if you lock them. A locking rule such as “open opportunity stays with its owner” holds those accounts in every run, and you can test the rule before saving it.

What happens to accounts while a seat is open?

Give them temporary coverage from neighbouring reps. The permanent territory stays intact for the new hire, and coverage ends automatically when they start.

Can we undo a change?

Yes. Undo your own recent actions, undo a whole balancing run, or restore accounts to a specific date and time from assignment history.

Your next rep change could take ten minutes.

Bring your current territories and we'll walk through a departure, a new hire and a mid-year rebalance on your own data.
